Discussion: Benedict XVI’s 2014 Letter vs. the Benepapists

August 28, 2025 (Steven O’Reilly) –  Last week I was invited on Christine Harrington’s Eternal Life Plan Program again.

Our discussion focused on the recent publication of Benedict XVI’s 2014 letter to Msgr. Nicola Bux, and its impact on various Benepapist theories which claim Benedict XVI’s resignation was invalid.

This letter effectively refutes the core claims of Andrea Cionci’s “Ratzinger Code” theory, as well as the ‘partial resignation’ theory popularized by Ann Barnhardt & Co.

To date, Roma Locuta Est has published the following articles touching on Benedict’s 2014 letter:

The Authenticity of Benedict XVI’s 2014 Letter

The Stake through the Heart of Benepapism

Intellectual Honesty and the End of Benepapism

Vigano and the Spontaneous Combustion of Benepapism

My first appearance on her show focused on rebutting claims that Benedict’s resignation was forced (see HERE).

Thanks again to Christine Harrington for having me on her show!
