The Ratzinger Code Debunked

June 6, 2023 (Steven O’Reilly) – Roma Locuta Est has previously published a series of videos which critically reviews, and debunks the theory of Benepapism aka Benevacantism aka BiP, i.e., the erroneous claim that Benedict XVI remained pope until his death in 2022 (See Video Series Debunking Benepapism / BiP / Benevacantism).

Roma Locuta Est now adds additional videos to that series.  These latest videos are a three-part series on the so-called “Ratzinger Code” theory proposed by Italian journalist Andrea Cionci in various articles, and in his book of the same name, The Ratzinger Code. The videos are as follows:

1.  RLE Considers Episode 10 The Ratzinger Code and Plan B Part 1 of 3

  • This video will provide background on the key aspects of this theory, including answering what are “Plan B” and the “Ratzinger Code.”  Roma Locuta Est also addressed Cionci’s discussion of a supposed “Plan B” in a couple of articles, which included my reply to Cionci’s reply (see Benedict’s Plan “B” from Outer Space and Benedict’s Plan B from Outer Space – the Sequel)
  • Part 1 will also provide a summary of the arguments which debunk the “Ratzinger Code” claims on the question of the munus vs. the ministerium, which were previously covered in great detail in RLE’s prior videos on the munus vs. ministerium (see Video Series Debunking Benepapism / BiP / Benevacantism).
  • The video will then apply a common sense critique of the “Ratzinger Code” theory and demonstrate that the Ratzinger Code theory is preposterous.

2. RLE Considers Episode 11 The Ratzinger Code and Plan B Part 2 of 3

  • In part 2 of the series, we will examine the prime example of the “Ratzinger Code” which is the center piece example of the book of the same name, The Ratzinger Code.  Roma Locuta Est addressed the “Ratzinger Code” in a number of articles, including Regarding the “Ratzinger Code”.

3. RLE Considers Episode 12 The Ratzinger Code and Plan B Part 3 of 3

  • In part 3, we’ll take a look at a glaring example of cognitive dissonance as it relates to Andrea Cionci attempting to apply the hermeneutic of his Ratzinger Code to various declarations made by Archbishop Ganswein in regard to a famous Benepapist in Italy, as well as other declarations which  undermine the whole Benepapist theory.
  • In addition to being inadvertently funny — as far as the Benepapists are concerned — it does expose the cognitive dissonance of those who would still accept this theory. This is example is based on an RLE article (see Ratzinger Code: “Don’t believe your lying eyes”, as well as my subsequent response to Cionci’s response, see A Response to Andrea Cionci and his “Ratzinger Code”).

In addition to the articles, and videos mentioned above, this latest series of videos is also based on my recently published book, titled Valid? The Resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, which counters the claims of the Benepapists.  One can also check out various compilations of articles published on Roma Locuta Est which also counter the claims of the Benepapists (see  The Case against those who claim “Benedict is (still) pope”, and Summa Contra the BiP Theory (Why Benedict XVI is NOT the pope).

Roma Locuta Est is a wee, humble blog – one which the world little notes, nor will long remember.  Unlike many Catholic and or Benepapist blogs, and Youtube sites; we do not seek – and we do not accept donations. If the you find these videos above helpful, please give them a “like” and “subscribe” — and then send the link to your Benepapist friends.  It’s time for this nonsense to end.
